Another Start

Weight 199 lbs.

Starting again.  The story of my life.  I'm so disgusted with myself for putting so much weight back on.  But being disgusted doesn't help me get to where I want to be.  So, I'm trying to be positive about this.

"I want to be healthy and I want to be thin."  I kept repeating that to myself yesterday while I was on the treadmill.  It's a good mantra.  Maybe it should be "I want to be at a healthy weight" instead, though.  Because, amazingly, with all the abuse I've put my poor body through in terms of eating and weight, I'm in very good health.  I have no right to be considering how I've eaten throughout my life and avoided exercise like it was the plague.

I keep trying to find a way to do this with as little pain as possible.  A month ago I started counting calories again and lost over ten pounds.  Today counting calories again is depressing so I'm going to try it by just making good food decisions and exercising.

  1. Hey! Me too. 199 that is. Darn it. You sound just like me. I have a blog at rebeldieter.blogspot.com. I'm trying something new that I'm actually liking. Like you, I want this as painless as possible. I hate feeling like I'm starving on weight watchers, I get bored counting calories, pre-programmed stuff like Nutrisystem is impractical. What am I to do? I decided to try it all---mind you, I have no idea if this will work. I wrote up a bunch of slips, some have calories from 1500 to 2100, some say "high protein", "vegetarian" "small meals" a few are even pure quack diets like the cookie diet. I put all the slips in an envelope and every week I draw out seven slips and that's what I do. I'm shying away from inviting friends and family to my blog (yet again) because I don't know if this will work weight-loss wise, but I'd love to have you visit the blog. I AM happier. I'm not bored (yet) and I'm actually enjoying even the stricter days. I'm looking for a few blogs to read--so I'll be cheering you on from time to time. Good luck to you!
